Masters Thesis - Thermal Creep formulation in ANSYS of a stainless steel heat storage vessel
Azelio, together with VETEC, offers a master thesis work to characterize thermal creep of a thermal energy storage. Azelio is a leading development company in electricity generation with Stirling motors. Azelio also develop solutions to take advantage of, for example, solar energy during the day to be able to generate electricity at night using the Stirling engine.
The goal of the thesis work is to formulate a material model for 253MA (stainless steel) in ANSYS to be able to analyse creep due to high temperatures over time. The thesis includes time/project planning, literature study, theoretical framework, ANSYS tutorials and implementation of creep formulation in ANSYS. If there is enough time, there is also the possibility of making lab measurements and correlating the material model with the measurements.
Supervisors are Kajsa Bengtsson from VETEC together with Professor Magnus Ekh from Chalmers. Magnus is the examiner.
